Adventures into Digital Comics...

I was once again reminded of ADVENTURES INTO DIGITAL COMICS. ADVENTURES INTO DIGITAL COMICS is an excellent documentary. And I’m not just saying that because some of my artwork was used in the film...

ADVENTURES INTO DIGITAL COMICS (2006) tells the story of the crash of the US comic book industry and the potential rebirth of the medium as an all-digital form on the Internet. The film features many comic book and webcomic writers and artists and discusses the medium from an artistic and economical point of view.

A while back, I gave an interview for the ADVENTURES INTO DIGITAL COMICS website. Keep in mind that this interview was conducted several years ago. I was still inking SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH back then.

Sadly, only my artwork is featured on the dvd. I wasn’t filmed for the movie:

Al Nickerson lives in New York. For budgetary reasons, it was decided that interviews would be shot only in California (and actually interviews were shot from San Diego to San Francisco.) Al was obviously out of reach.

Speaking of interviews... there's several more listed at the INTERVIEWS section on the ARGGH!!! website.

ARCHIE & FRIENDS #118...

Above: Cover to ARCHIE AND FRIENDS #118.

ARCHIE AND FRIENDS #118 should be in comic book stores today. As I mentioned before, I inked six pages in this issue. Again, I don’t always know where the stories I ink for Archie Comics end up. So, in this case, I’m glad I can let folks know ahead of time. It looks like I’ll be inking parts of ARCHIE AND FRIENDS for a while (as I continue to ink various stories for the Archie digest books; and, as rumor has it, maybe ink some of SONIC X). I inked the first half of issue #119, and I’m waiting for the pencilled pages to issue #120 to ink. I love inking Rex Lindsey’s pencils. So, I’m having a great time with ARCHIE AND FRIENDS.

Above: Panel from ARCHIE AND FRIENDS #118. Pencils by Rex Lindsey and inks by Al Nickerson.

Alex Ross covers BACK ISSUE #30!

Above is a super-sneak-peek to the cover of BACK ISSUE #30. The cover by Alex Ross features television’s Captain Marvel played by Jackson Bostwick. BACK ISSUE #30 is the "Saturday Morning Heroes" issue which, unfortunately, doesn’t include any articles written by me. Still, this is an awesome cover! The only thing better than Captain Marvel (my all-time favorite super-hero) is Alex Ross artwork of Captain Marvel.
